Maxi Colour - Why We Believe In It For Our Plywood Finishing

All Timber Panel products including Plywood need to be finished with some sort of protective coating to ensure long-term life is achieved.

We believe in the our Maxi Colour, applied using our Intelligrain Coating System.

This is made with natural oils and waxes: Sunflower Oil, Carnauba and Candelilla Waxes, Linseed, Soya and Thistle Oils. The oil penetrates into the wood surface protecting the wood from deep within. The waxes form an elastic, microporous surface which protects the wood from moisture and abrasion. This makes any timber panel coated  well protected and very durable.

Due to the natural ingredients used to manufacture our hard-wax oil the quality of finish is also very natural to the feel of the hand and when the Matt finish is used such as the Polyx #3062 the look also is very natural. This is a great feature for the many people who want to retain the natural look and feel of raw timber but also acknowledge that timber does need a coating to be protected, even when used indoors.

Microporous wood can breathe, which in turn improves air quality. Due to its anti-static properties, the Maxi Colour surface is very good for allergy sufferers.

The finished  surface is extremely tough and hard-wearing but one of its best features is how easily repairable it is should it be damaged or scratched accidentally. Seamless repairs can be achieved on larger areas.

This is a major benefit for installers and joiners using the product compared to other surface finishes such as powder-coated or 2-pak paints which cannot be easily repaired.

Hence our belief in Maxi Colour our Hard-Wax Oil – it benefits the specifier and designer with beautiful finishes and colour options, it benefits the installers with easily repairable surfaces and edge touch-ups should it be needed, and makes the dreams of the customer come true with its beautiful finish.

Maxi Colour – the perfect finish for all timber surfaces.
